Atala Schöck

“Mezzo-soprano Atala Schöck's Fricka is a nuanced, realistic and, at the same time, sensitive wife, sung in perfect German diction with exceptionally beautiful voice.”

The Hungarian mezzo-soprano is a scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Verband. She was appointed chamber singer of the Budapest State Opera in 2016/17 and received the Franz Liszt Prize in 2017 for her excellent musical commitment. She is an outstanding singer not only in the German and Italian Fach but also in the French one. With a dark mezzo as well as perfect intonation and text comprehensibility, she has conquered national and international opera and concert stages. In 2017/18, Atala Schöck sang Carmen in Brno, Gertrud in ‘Hänsel und Gretel’ at the Budapest State Opera and was, again, a guest at the Wagner Days in Budapest where she made her debut as Brangäne in the new production of ‘Tristan und Isolde’ under the baton of M° Ádám Fischer. In 2019/20, she will present Mahler's 8th Symphony in Lille and sing again various concerts in Budapest. In 2022 is she again Fricka in 'Die Walküre' at the Wagner-Festival in Budapest under the baton of M° Adam Fischer.
