Emily Hindrichs

"Emily Hindrichs, a familiar Queen of Night on the Magic Flute circuit, was a truly classy Cunegonde [in Candide], bringing to her numbers exceptional diction (not always easy in high tessitura), tonal evenness and great musicality, most winningly in ‘Glitter and be Gay’.”

As a former ensemble member at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the American soprano successfully sang Königin der Nacht, Sophie, Le Feu, Le Rossignol, Oscar  and  Constanza in Haendel’s Riccardo Primo. Since 2015/16, she joins the Oper Köln, where she already could be heard as Teresa (Benvenuto Cellini), Olympia/Giulietta, Lucia di Lammermoor, Cunegonde (Candide) and Nanetta. In April 2018, she made her highly acclaimed debut as Marie (Die Soldaten). Her Elisetta debut (Il Matrimonio segreto) follows in June.
