Jongmin Yoon studied at Hanyang Universtität in Seoul Prof. Soo-kil Park and afterwards at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim. He participated at several master classes with Lucia Aliberti, Thomas Hampson, Prof. Helmut Rilling, Prof. Axel Brauni, Prof. Burkhard Kehring, Prof. Jan Philip Schulze, Prof. Ulrich Eisenlohr, Prof. Peter Nelson nd Prof. Anne Le Bozec. Since 2014, he  is working with Kwangchul Youn. In 2011, he became a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association and was semi finalist of the 8. Internationaler Gesangswettbewerb für Wagnerstimmen in Karlsruhe. 

His repertoire includes roles such as König Marke, Daland and Sparafucile as well as Alidoro (La Cenerentola), Colline, Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Sarastro and Plumkett (Martha). Since the 2012/13 season, Jongmin Yoon is ensemble member at the Theater Regensburg. In the 2018-19 season, he is singing Zacharias in the new production of 'Nabucco', Raimondo (Lucia die Lammermoor) and Leporello (Don Giovanni), there.

The Korean Bass has already worked with the conductors do Arad, Klaus Arp, Tetsuro Ban, Felix Bender, Rossen Gergov, Israel Gursky, Gabor Kali and Helmut Rilling, in productions under the direction of Andreas Baessler, Lotte de Beer, Jochen Biganzoli, Brigitte Fassbaender, Christine Mielitz, Hendrik Müller, Johannes Pölzgutter and Uwe Schwarz.

Jongmin Yoon has a broad concert repertoire as well, for example Magnificat, Johannes-Passion, h-moll-Messe (Bach), Saul, (Händel), die Krönungsmesse und Spatzenmesse (Mozart), Missa Solemnis (Betthoven), Die erste Walpurgisnacht (Mendelsohn) und Stabat Mater (Dvorak).
