Ric Furman

The tall, attractive American tenor with the radiant voice is also making a career in Europe. His debut as Erik at the Wagner Festival Budapest 2018 was a complete success. Since the 2015/16 season, the American tenor has been engaged at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, singing roles such as Pinkerton, Erik, Dimitri (‘Boris Godunov’), Alvaro (‘La forza del destino’), Rodolfo (‘La Bohème’), Cavaradossi, Pollione (‘Norma’), Kaiser (‘Die Frau ohne Schatten’) and Siegmund. In 2017, he debuted as Prinz in ‘Rusalka’ at the Theater Magdeburg and returned there in autumn 2018 as Siegmund. Press and audience have celebrated him in the fascinating Magdeburg production of ‘Die Walküre’. Further engagements took him to Magdeburg as Anatol (‘Vanessa’)  in 2018/19 and to Glasgow as Boris (‘Katja Kabanova’) at the Scottish Opera. In the 2019/20 season, he can be heard as Bacchus (‘Ariadne auf Naxos’) in Weimar, as Matteo in ‘Arabella’ in Leipzig and as Augustin Moser at the Bayreuth Festival 2020. In  January 2021 he can be heard as Hoffmann in Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Komische Oper Berlin. In Magdeburg he made his acclaimed Peter Grimes debut. He This role he embodied also  in the new production of Peter Grimes at the Augsburg State Theater.
